Rule #12: Appointing a Master-of-Arms

Our most gracious lord and master, The Baron, does propose this bill:

Once per week, the Baron, in his infinite wisdom and noble sense of fair play, may appoint another player to be the Master-of-Arms for our fair nomiblog.

12a. The term of appointment for this position lasts until the end of that week. Then the Baron(ess) may assign a new Master-of-Arms, if it so suits their Baronial moods.

12b. The primary task of the Master-of-Arms is to defend Nomiblog from invasion. But you can't very well do that if we aren't being invaded. Therefore the Master-of-Arms must, in a post titled "Defense of the Realm", provide a picture or written description of some new non-player character(s) that we are at war with, and explain what in-character efforts they are taking to protect all Nomiblog from said dangers.

12c. Should the Master-of-Arms fail to fulfill their primary task (as per 12b) before the end of the game week, the Administrator will award them one level of Cowardice. This happens at the same time as vote tallying and QI'yaH assessments. If someone has three or more levels of Cowardice, they cannot be declared Master-of-Arms again until such time as those levels are removed in some way.
(Note that this rule does not itself provide a method for Cowardice to be removed or downgraded.)

Yes. As Baron I doth vote for this bill, and do invoke my noble ability to make this vote count double. So sayeth me.

Yes, for I have been instructed to vote for the Baron's bills. Plus, methinks our realm is imperiled from all sides and must be protected.

Plus, I think levels of Cowardice be most badass.

Yes! Perhaps if the baron gets to appoint some things he will have to leave the house, thus forcing him to put on some pants.

Re: Pants

Mr. Small,

In the first place, I remind you that no one has posted any bills requiring the wearing of pants within our community.

Secondly, and I say this as a warning, do not provoke me to post a "funny hat" picture that you will regret. Further talk of pants may inspire just such an action.

Sincerest regards, baronially yours, etc, etc,
Your Lord and Master

Yes. Bureaucracy for all! The one thing that this realm is in short supply of is red tape. Shiny, sticky, can't break through it red tape.

Yes, and if there is a threat of invasion then I should get myself a sword...

I was thinking... never good! Perhaps if we have no master of arms the Baron will not need to appoint anything. Then he can just sit in his hovel without pants. If the Baron is not wearing pants we need no smith because at the first sign of noise the Baron will burst forth pantless. If that does not chase away the evil no pointy chunk of metal will do any good.

Did I mention the Baron's pants again... shame on me. I feel rotten, just rotten... no wait that is just gas.

(As usual, you feel compelled to count this as a yes vote. It would be quite nice to know who is in charge of defending the lands, so that when the armies of Mordor arrive, we can properly take care of any problems that may arise.)
